Celebrating 20 Years of Bliss

In 2003, husband-and-wife owners Scott Schimmel and Lisa Sorensen opened the first Bliss store—a 500 square-foot space in downtown Knoxville's Market Square. They offered a hand-picked selection of unique, quality home decor and furnishings.

Over the years, the entrepreneurs created a brand known for their unique and beautiful selection of products, unmatched customer service and shopping experience, and jaw-dropping visuals and interior spaces. What began as a small storefront nestled in the city's historic Market Square, has over the past two decades grown into a multi-store retailer specializing in women's clothing and gifts, decor and home furnishings. In 2013, Schimmel and Sorensen received the Rising Star Award from the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC).

Today, Bliss has four retail stores in two statesBliss & Tori Mason Shoes in Knoxville, and three Bliss Home locations with showrooms in Knoxville, Nashville and Louisville, Kentucky. Bliss carries fashion clothing, accessories, shoes and gifts, while Bliss Home offers beautiful furniture, home decor, accessories and interior design services.
